Multi-tasking

I managed to combine Kirsti's challenge this week, which was a beautiful poem called Holding Hands with my own Random Challenge of two different sized photos at TBSS. This is a photo of Nick and my angel baby Kayla. The photo is quite old and grainy so I tried to clean it up a little.

The poem is actually on the Holding Hands Tab that can be pulled out from behind the photo.

This is the entire poem:

Holding Hands

Brother and sister,
together as friends,
ready to face
whatever life sends.
Joy and laughter or tears and strife,
holding hands tightly
as we dance through life

See you all soon....

Up Close & Personal

This is a layout I completed for Nat's Weekly Challenge at TBSS this week.

The challenge was to do handcutting, one photo only, something glittery and to use something from your last purchase! I had just got these beautiful "Eva" patterned papers by Basic Grey from TBSS and they demanded to be handcut! I have also cut out the entire middle section of the layout and re-attached it by using the handcut embellies and the Prima Crystal swirl as anchors. Very hard to get a really good photo of this layout.

Thanks for visiting....

Scrapping The Past

My Random Challenge last week at TBSS was to create a layout, OTP, etc using an old photo (ie: parents / grandparents etc). At least I flower, At least 1 metal embellishment and at least 1 habadashery item (ribbon, lace, button etc)

This is what I came up with for my own challenge. This is a photo of my Great-Grandmother and Great-Grandfather taken circa 1945.

I really love older photos!

That's all I have for you today! See you soon...

Photoswap

We are doing a monthly Photoswap over at TBSS and this month I was drawn out of the hat to swap with Amanda, one of our lovely regulars. She sent me some awesome photos to scrap and this is the first of hopefully a couple of layouts I will do for her. This is her very cute son Connor.

I would also like to say that Amanda has already done a layout for me as well and it totally rocks! Thanks Amanda...

It's hard to really see on this photo but the whole layout pops out about 1.5 - 2cm from the background. I have mounted the photo on a clear acrylic stand. The photo below shows a little of the dimension.

Thanks for being here......ciao

Yeeehahhhh!

I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it....oh yeah!
Pointer Sister's eat your heart out!
Yes the singing is for good reason.....In two weeks I am going to get a visit from my beautiful sister and my very gorgeous nephew, Cordell! I can not wait. I am counting down the days and I know I am barely going to sleep until they get here.
Only 13 more sleeps (or not sleeps) until they arrive.......yipee!

Kirsti's Quote Challenge

This was Kirsti's quote challenge for this week at TBSS. I really wanted to scrap this photo of us on our 10th Wedding Anniversary and this quote fit quite nicely. Thanks Kirsti!

Quote reads:

"Happiness doesn't depend on what happens outside of you but on what happens inside of you ~H.B. Lee"

See you soon!

Nat's Weekly Challenge

Nat's challenge at TBSS this week was......
To do something you haven't done for ages........ahhhhhh!
If I haven't done it for ages I probably don't like it or it's scary.....LOL
Any way I decided to put some beading on a layout, something I really have not done for donkey's years and a little embossing with the old Fiskars shape embosser that I dragged out and dusted off. I scrapped a photo of our very first snow day...brrrrr.
This is what I came up with:

Hope to see you soon........

Scraplift Time!

Friday is scraplift day. I LOVE Friday's. Last week's scraplift was something a little different for TBSS because our scrapliftee is a DIGI girl. Ann-Marie's layouts are gorgeous examples of digi work but any digi is difficult to convert to paper. Anyway this is what I came up with. Thanks for the inspiration AM - you rock!

Back soon....

Cybercrop Challenge #3

This was Shell's third challenge for the cybercrop at TBSS and it scared the bejeezez out of me. I suddenly realised that Christmas is just around the corner....ahhhhhhh!

Here was Shell's challenge:

Yep...it's getting that time of year again girls.I figured this was a good challenge as it might knock some people off your Chrissy Card List.
Ok, let's do matching cards. THEY HAVE TO MATCH...BE A PAIR!!
You must make a minimum of 2 cards for this challenge...
You MUST make your featured embellishment on the front of both cards with Clear/Rubber Stamps.
You MUST only use Christmas Colours...(Red, Green, Gold, Silver & White - NO blue!!)
You MUST use rub-ons on both cards...
You must incoorporate at least one mistle-toe, one wreath and one santa. This can be between both cards and up to you how you do it.

Here is my take on the challenge:

Cybercrop Challenge # 2

This was Shell's second challenge for the cybercrop on Friday night at TBSS.

Great challenge Shell. Another opportunity to scrap my spunky nephew Cordell!....LOL
Tear Bear Challenge...
You MUST hand make a Peek-A-Boo Tear Bear. (He is the one with just a head and paws)
You MUST use it on a little boy's Layout.
You MUST NOT use Pastel colours.
You MUST use a Black & White Pic/Photo.
You MUST NOY use any Pattern Paper.
You MUST use a min of 2 different ribbons.
This will be interesting as we normally associate baby's pages with Pastel colours.

Here is my take on this challenge:

Back soon with the last Cybercrop Challenge!

October Cybercrop

Wow! What a blast we had on Friday night at TBSS for the October Cybercrop!
We played some really fun games and had lots of laughs and Shell gave out 3 Kick-Butt Challenges.
I managed to get all 3 challenges done despite the fact that DH had decided to pull my shelves apart and build some cupboards for me instead. My Lounge Room floor was covered with my scrap stash and everytime I got up to get something I either kicked a box or knocked over a pile of stuff!......LOL
I will upload my challenges here tomorrow.....
'Til then.....big hugs

Random Challenge #11

I was going to give everyone a break this week and come up with a really easy Challenge because of cybercrop but then I thought.....nah!.....LOL

This is this weeks Random Challenge at TBSS:

ALTER a photo (not in Photoshop etc. You gotta get dirty) Start with a standard photo and sand it, cut it, ink it, paint on it, rip it, bling it, sew on it, anything you like as long as it is altered!

STITCHING. Either machine or by hand

CHALKING. (If you don'y have chalks, eyeshadow makes a great substitute)

GLITTER or BLING

4 HEARTS

Here Is My Example

Back soon with MORE!

Challenge Chics Challenge!

I was thrilled to be asked to come up with one of the TBSS sponsored challenges over at Deb's Creations for October. This is the challenge that I came up with:

6 x FLOWERS (any type, size, colour)
1 x BUTTON (any size, colour, shape)
16 x RHINESTONES (any size, colour, shape)
1 x 10cm piece of RIBBON (any colour, width)
2 x journaling PENS may be used

3 x WORDS only in title (you may use stamping, chipboard, stickers or hand-drawn lettering)

NO other items are to be added to your creation except for ink, chalk, paint, staples, stitching and of course adhesives! You must use the correct amount of items.
I had a lot of fun playing with all the different elements of this challenge and seeing how many different variations I could come up with! This is MY take on MY challenge....LOL

BIG BIG News!

For anyone who doesn't know yet, my BIG BIG news is that around the middle of May next year I will be a Grandparent for the very first time! My son Nick and his girlfriend Rachel are having a baby and starting a whole new generation in our family....
Notice I said Grandparent. Still not sure what I will be called. I am most definately NOT the Grandma type and Nan just does not sound right because that name belongs to MY Nan...Nick's nickname for me is Ma, so who knows that might just stick!
Anyway needless to say I am very excited and imagining all the photos I can scrap and craft projects I can tackle.....LOL
'til next time....big hugs

A Face You Have To Love!

For Kath's sketch challenge this week I used a photo of my very cute nephew Cordell. Check that out for a face hey!...

According to my sister Jenna, he gets it from his Father....LOL

I think it is one of the cutest & funniest faces I have ever seen.

I will probably be sending this layout to my sister so I have included a journaling tag so that she can write down some of her own thoughts on this face!

Cheers everyone!

The Pink Challenge!

Nat's tricky challenge for this week at TBSS was to use 4 different shades of pink, handwritten journaling/title, flowers/stars, flourishes/swirls.

I love pink but this was harder than it sounded! I think I ended up with 36 shades of pink here.....LOL

This photo of Kiahna was taken at Botany Bay and she is ALWAYS ready with a smile for the camera.

Thanks for looking.......
