My2Angels For Christmas

I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas and did plenty of over-indulging.
'Tis the season.....lol

Just before Christmas I had my one and only small splurge at My2Angels.

Love all the pretty goodies I bought so I thought I would share a layout and a couple of cards that I made. Tracy has a brand new My2Angels store coming soon. Can't wait to see it!

The pics for this layout were a couple of left-overs from a Christmas project. Waste not, want not.....lol

Better Late Than Never!

I know it's been a while but......
THAT'S LIFE!.....lol

Have a couple of pics to share with you and a quick project as well.
The last couple of weeks has been so busy with end of year stuff, Christmas organising, kids school stuff etc. etc. but it was worth it.
On Monday we had the little kids final assembly for the year and we watched our little Princess Kiahna singing in the choir. Beautiful!
And of course we were there to clap very loudly for Brady as he received an award for Excellence In Literacy. Such a clever cookie!

I've spent lots of time kissing and cuddling my grandson Chay.
He is such a gorgeous little boy. Always has a smile for you and always laughing.

I have made quite a few Christmas presents in the last 2 weeks but I'm just not game enough to post them in case the recipients decide to have a sticky beak.....lol

I will share this project that was for my Daughter's 8th Birthday party. Kiahna wanted to have a craft party so I pre-cut all the pieces for these cute little handbags and then they assembled and decorated them by themselves. While they were having cake etc. I filled their handbags up with some party treats and they took them home.
The template is courtesy of Mel (Mel Stampz) check out her awesome blog here and the template can be downloaded here.

Here was my example ones.

And here's the ones all the girls did.

I also made some gorgeous presents for the kids Teachers and forgot to take a photo before they got handed out. Bugger!

I will save the pics of all the Christmas stuff until the presents have been sent and opened....lol

All I Want For Christmas....

Yesterday I had the chance to finish off a layout that had been patiently waiting for me!....lol
This is my take on the December Challenge over at
Scrap The Girls.
This one really had me thinking.
Loved it!
The details of the challenge were:

J - Jewels / Bling
O - Orange PP or Cardstock

Y - Yellow Embellishment

You also had to use the lyrics of a Christmas Carol as your title. This is where I bent the rules slightly....lol
I have a big collection of Chr
istmas music. Everything from Frank Sinatra to Wham, Elvis to Hi5 and everything in between. This song, "All I Want For Christmas Is You" (best sung by Mariah Carey) is one of my absolute favourites, so I just had to use it.

'Twas The Night Before Christmas

Today is Christmas Tree Day!
YAY!!!!

Today is also my angel girl's anniversary so I have gone through my own personal grieving routine today and me and the kids are now looking forward t
o putting the Christmas Tree up tonight.
Same day every year. I love traditions :)

Thought I would quickly post a b
ook I finally got around to making. I have wanted to do this book for ages and thought now that I have grandchildren it's the perfect time to start another tradition. So we will be reading this book every Christmas Eve which has the original "'Twas The Night Before Christmas" poem inside .

I created a hybrid book this time using elements from the gorgeous Cara Mia Designz Kit "Glitzy Christmas". I printed the digi pages out on white Bazzill and stuck them to an old Kaiser wood calendar that I hadn't got around to using (oops!)
Then I used some ribbon and Basic Grey Chipboard Letters covered with lots of lovely glitter on the front.

And last but not least a layout that I did ages ago and totally forgot to share!......lol
Just a layout about me....

Thanks for visiting :)

OCD's? Who me?

Happy Friday everybody!
I had some stuff to show you today and then I realised I couldn't!
I just looked at them and seen that some of the projects I have completed are for Christmas pressies and I know they read my blog so I can't put them up here and one was picked up for publication by Scrapbooking Memories. So now I just have this one layout to show you.

I have had the title for this in my head forever!
I just wasn't sure how to scrap the page. Then I walked past my pile of cleaning stuff the other day and grabbed the camera and this is what I ended up with.

Very quick post today :)

I made it to round 3 of the Embellish This Challenge Competition at Scrap N Craft With T and was so loving the challenge! That was until Mojo did a runner on me....lol.
I really struggled to get this done and was so disappointed because I LOVED the challenge.
Anyways, here are the details of the Round 3 challenge:

EMBELLISH IT..... AND BLING IT!

My Challenge for you this week, goes hand in hand with a big event on the Australian Calendar...the Melbourne Cup. It's always a big event that gets the whole nation involved. Seeing there's always a 1st, 2nd and 3rd...my challenge is all about 3's! So, the first part of your challenge is to use the Melbourne Cup logo as your inspiration and create a layout using the colours of teal, hot pink, black and white. Bright and very funky!! NOTE: You can use tiny hints of other colours but the main focus is on this colour scheme.

The second part of the Challenge is to create an interesting background, and it must have 3 elements to it. For example, my background has painting, sewing and a weaved paper background. You can do whatever you like here, but it MUST have 3 parts to it!!

As you know, the Races are all about fashion, feathers and bling, so guess what the third part of the challenge is about??
You MUST use: Fabric, Feathers and Bling on your layout somewhere.

As an BONUS part of this challenge and sticking with the theme for our "Embellish This" competition...You MUST create a handmade embellishment out of fabric.
It can be anything at all. There are plenty of tutorials on the web, showing you how to make various embellishments. Let your mind run wild...I can't wait to see what you create!! Good luck everyone!

And here was my take on the challenge.

Lots Of News & A Project

I was thrilled to make it through to the second round of the "Embellish This" Challenge Competition at Scrap 'N' Craft with T.
Then I fell into the dreaded procrastination hole!.....lol

I changed my mind three times before I decided what I was doing for t
he second challenge and it took a bit of rummaging in the kids craft box to get the light bulb idea!
The details of the second challenge were:

HERE IS THE WEEK 2 CHALLENGE.....
  • Create an embellishment to be used to decorate the outside of your gift wrapping, using the colours red, white and green and also using some wire.
  • It is preferable to have it attached to your gift wrapping, whether that be a gift box or gift bag, or alternatively it can be attached to your layout or card.
  • The embellishment will be judged only... not the wrapping/layout or card.
I found a polystyrene cone shape in the kids craft box and decided it would make a great xmas tree. I die cut some hearts using Spellbinders Nestabilities and turned them upside down to create the branches of my tree. I gave them a quick lick of Kindy Glitz and attached them to the cone. On the top of the tree I used some holly leaves and berries and topped it off with a gorgeous star charm from my2angels (thanks Tracy) attached with wire. I coiled some wire and attached beads to the end and placed these randomly on the tree. Then the whole tree rests on some more holly leaves and fibre base. All of this is attached to the lid of the box with one piece of wire through the bottom of the tree that can easily be removed if I wanted to use the tree as a decoration.

Now onto other news.
Yesterday afternoon I got my subscription copy of Scrapbooking Memories Vol. 11. No. 10.
(Thank you again for the beautiful gift by the way. You know who you are!)
How excited was I to see 3 of my creations in this issue!
Plus if you check out the back page where the Sneak Peeks are you will see another creation of mine coming up in the next issue.
WOO HOO!
One of these publications features my gorgeous grandson Chay for the first time so needless to say I will be putting a copy away for him to keep....lol

Last but not least, my test results.
The good news is my Breast ultrasound showed the lump was nothing sinister.
Using my Doctor's words, I have "naturally lumpy breast tissue"....lol, so it means I have to be very aware of what is normal for me and do very regular checks.
The pap smear results not quite so encouraging.
All 3 showed consistently abnormal cells but they have not got worse so my Doctor wants to give me another round of tests in 6 months.
Not "ideal" news but I get 6 months to push it to the back of my mind and concentrate on other stuff.
I can live with that :)

Thank you for all the continued support & best wishes. Your kind words and positive thoughts mean a lot to me.

So that's another huge post. Hope you made it all the way through.....lol

Gift Box With An Edge

I can't believe it's Thursday already! Seriously, someone is stealing days off me!
Maybe there is a Time Grinch out there that gets it's kicks by stealing days.....lol

Yesterday I worked on a cute little gift box for my CPT work at DownUnder Direct.
I used the new Cardstock With An Edge Rectangles and the Crafter's Companion so it came together really quickly. Half the work is done for you!
It turned out that a JustRite Stampers box slid perfectly inside the box but I can see it filled up with some chocolates or some yummy smelling soaps would be nice.
There is a tutorial attached to this project if you would like to check it out here.

Photo Update

Quick Photo update of the gorgeous Lyana.
There is no doubt she is the spitting image of her big brother. Wrinkled frown and all....lol

Love it!

Fascinating!

New Baby, New News, New Layout & A Thank You

WOO HOO!

I love it when I have good news to share. Today I became the proud Aunty of a gorgeous new niece. Welcome to the world

"Lyana Kayla"

Now I admit to a bit of an emotional hiccup when my sister asked if she could use Kayla as Lyana's middle name but I was so thrilled and naturally I said yes.
For those of you who don't know, Kayla is my daughter who passed away when she was two and a half. So for my beautiful sister to name her own daughter in her memory is a wonderful, loving gesture. I am eagerly waiting for "real" photos and not grainy mobile phone ones. They are on early release from hospital so I am sure once they are settled in at home I will have an email bursting with some yummy baby pics.....lol

AND if today hasn't brought enough good stuff I have more news as well.
My son and his partner had an ultrasound done today and the official due date of my second grand-baby is May 7th. Assuming the new little bubba decides to arrive on time, Chay will still be a day away from his first birthday! Who knows, maybe they will be sharing a birthday.

Now if I haven't bored you enough I have a layout to share as well.
I decided to join in the "Embellish This" Challenge Competition over at Scrap 'N' Craft With T.
Here are the details of their first challenge:

EMBELLISH IT..... and.... CREATE IT
This challenge is brought to you
by... Karen Calcutt

Your challenge this week is too....
  • Create a layout/project about a loved one
  • Must journal about what you love about them
  • Create your own flowers on your layout
  • Must use beads
  • Must use felt
  • Must use fabric
  • Must use a doily
*Important NOTE: no commercial flowers allowed please

I was hoping that by joining in it would give my Mojo a kick up the butt......lol
So this is what I came up with for this challenge.

The flowers are made from tulle, lace, calico and beads. I used a felt frame from Bella and the gorgeous paper is My Minds Eye Bella Bella range.

I also wanted to everyone for each of the beautiful comments that you left on my last post. I felt humbled, slightly embarrased but most of all extremely grateful for all your best wishes and positive vibes. It was an amazing feeling just reading all your aweome comments.
Thank you, thank you, thank you.
