On Tuesday morning my little munchkin of a puppy dog broke his leg.
In all honesty that would have been distressing enough but as it usually goes, the dramas continued.....
It took all day to find out for sure that it was definitely broken and then we were told the cost for him to have surgery and pins inserted into his leg. OMG!!!!
Finally my kind hearted BIL offered us the money. So Wednesday morning I happily trot off to the vet's to inform them that surgery can go ahead. Great they say but we need payment upfront. Problem! My BIL lives in Queensland so still waiting for money to clear our account. Surgery will probably be delayed until Thursday.
Now I have been crying all day for the last two days and I am done! You have to understand that Dexter is one of the kids. He has spent everyday either at our feet, on someone's lap or on their bed. He is miserable at the Vet's and in pain.
Finally surgery goes ahead late on Wednesday and we were able to bring him home last night. Now the FUN begins (not!)
He has to be contained for the next 2 weeks in a area about 1 metre square. No walking on his leg so he has to be carried outside for the toilet and from room to room where we are.
For 2 weeks after that it's small steps only on a lead and we are looking at a 8 week recovery period.
So here is a pic of my poor little mite.....

Oh the poor little darlin. We have a little foxie and we thought he broke his leg once, it's very distressing when your gorgeous pooch hurts themselves, you can't explain it'll be ok. I hope he has a speedy recovery Tracey and I'm sure he's getting lots of cuddles. Take care of yourself to ;) xx
