Cute As A Bug!

My random challenge this week was to include:
  • An animal, either an image or in the title
  • At least one piece of ribbon
  • And last but not least, you must mat your photo/photos

Even I had a bit of fun with this challenge. I used another old photo when Brady was a toddler. He was our little nature boy, roaming around the backyard on his own, just observing the world go by!

Thanks for being here. Hope to see you again!

Another Awesome Sketch

Kath produced another awesome sketch challenge this week and I took advantage of it to scrap a photo of Jake hanging out at the park! Handcut leaves out of PP and used some white felt and gel pens to 'lift' the whole layout.....

Thanks for looking......be back soon

Nat's Multiple Photo Challenge

Nat's challenge for this week at TBSS was to include at least 4 photos, inking/stamping, mixed fonts and bling. I scrapped these photos we took at the beach in December last year. The day was filled with dipping in the ocean, sandcastle building and sand monsters....LOL (another story and another layout!)

I inked the cardstock background and printed the photos out as one piece then individually cut one of the pics out and mounted with foam dots for something different.

Glad you came....come back for a cuppa soon!

A BOM Extra

This is an extra page I have done for my Book Of Me as I really wanted to include this photo of my brother. my Dad and me. It's the last photo of us together before he died. Photo was taken in early 1979 and he died in November 1979. Have included a hidden journaling tag on the right hand side of the photo for some personal journaling.....

See you again soon...

Nat's Weekly Challenge

This week Nat's weekly challenge was interesting! We had to scraplist 2 gallery members from TBSS. Soooo much choice! I ended up choosing a couple on my favourites list and then added a third as well. Oops....I scraplifted one of Shell's beautiful layouts, "Cheeky Chops" and took my colour inspiration from one of Kath's BOM layouts. Finally I borrowed Nat's title "Imagine" from another one of my favourite layouts!

So here is the result!

Thanks for dropping by....ciao

Love A Good Scraplift!

Lucky number 13 scraplift nominee last week was Mandy @ TBSS. I love scraplifts. It makes you try something new, put your own spin on someone elses work or try a colour combination you might not normally try. I chose to scraplift one of Mandy's layouts by lifting the colours and the journaling strips that she used. Her original was a boy's layout and I made mine into a girl's one with a photo of Kiahna at her cheekiest!!.....LOL

Random Challenge???

For my random challenge this week I chose to do a colour challenge. Nothing random about this....one of my favourite colour combinations, blue & brown. I edited a great photo I took on Fathers Day of the kids with Brett into a sepia photo that matched the colours much better. I did add a little orange to lift the whole layout as well.

I had a lot of fun with this layout and kind of added a little of everything
Thanks for coming.....

Challenge Chics September Challenge #2

This is a layout I did for the Challenge Chics September Challenge #2. This one was all Nat's idea. It had to be a boys layout using only girl products & girl colours. I chose this photo of Jake when he was not quite seven. He is and always has been such a daredevil but he does have a softer side that suprises people sometimes......LOL

A Layout For The Challenge Chics

This is a layout I did for one of the Challenge Chic's challenges over at Deb's Creations (http://www.debscreations.net.au/). TBSS is sponsoring a couple of their challenges at the moment. This was a challenge to create a 'Collage' layout (I know, and I swore I wouldn't be doing another collage for a while!) that had to be about yourself. I took a photo of me taking a photo, because I love to spend one day just playing with photos. I like to achieve something everyday so I consider a day of taking, photos, editing, printing, a pretty good day!....LOL

See you next time.....

Random Challenge #7

My random challenge at TBSS last week was to get funky with your photos. I wanted to see some different and unusual photos featured in the layouts. I took a macro shot (which I haven't done much of) and then edited it to be black & white then re-coloured just the main flower area. Very interesting effect!

Thanks for looking everyone....

Layout For Book Of Me

This is the last layout I have completed for my BOM so far. The photo was taken by a professional photographer and was the only ones we ever had done except for School photos. I think I was about 3 in this photo. This layout was to be inspired by Ingrid G and I had to kinda squish it in and adapt her style to my 8x8 pages.....

I swear no more 8x8 pages ever!!!!

Thanks for dropping by....

Me & My Parents - Book Of Me

This is a layout I did for the BOM that was an open book. I chose a photo of me at 9 weeks with my Mum & Dad. This is the only photo I own with the 3 of us in it......
On my tiny 8x8 pages the Fancy Pants Glitter Cuts (TBSS) were the perfect size to da a simple layout.

Thanks for looking.....'til next time.....ciao

Book Of Me - Christmas

I love Christmas. It's my favourite time of year. Unfortunately I am usually behind the camera so I don't have a lot of photos to use for a Christmas layout with me in it! I chose to do a double layout for this one as I had a photo taken on Christmas Day when I was 5 and one when Jake was little. Still love Christmas!.....

Thanks for visiting....see you soon

Book Of Me Continued...

I have had a catch up this week, trying to complete a few more layouts for my BOM. I am finding it extremely frustrating as I have so few photos and because of my idiotic idea to do my layouts in 8x8 size. It is soooo restricting to scrap this way and I can never seem to get the page to look balanced enough. Anyway here are my latest additions:

BOM Layout - "What The 80's Meant To Me..."

BOM Layout - "18"

Will add a couple more in the continuing saga of my life soon....LOL

A First For Everything

This week was truly a week of firsts for me!
Firstly (LOL)....I finally got around to doing my very first digi layout. It was frustrating at times and it took me 2 days but I finally got it done. Problem now is that I really, really want to do a better one so I could easily become obsessed with digi's.....LOL. I used Kath's gorgeous sketch challenge for this layout.

Here is my first digi layout

My other first for the week was a "Collage". Our talented guest designer at TBSS this month is Deb Mitchell and she does some awesome collage layout's which inspired me to give one a go! I did this layout for Nat's challenge of black with at least 3 highlights of each of the colors green, yellow and white.....

I ended up with a huge mess doing this one and was spread out on the floor in the end. Wait 'til you try picking up a collage layout! So heavy....and it didn't help I'd been laying on the floor and my back was killing me!....LOL. The photos are of my son Jake, 14. Lucky boy was given a new computer by his Uncle Mark and the look on his face just said it all. I guess it's a bit like opening a big box of scrapping supplies!...LOL

Anyway this is the end result!

Thanks for looking. Come back soon....

Funny Bunny

I just wanted to share a layout I did for Kath's sketch challenge last week. This is a photo of our new family member Harry. Harry doesn't know he is a rabbit! He loves to go for walks in the backyard on his little bunny lead and he is such a character! We love him...
