On Tuesday morning my little munchkin of a puppy dog broke his leg.
In all honesty that would have been distressing enough but as it usually goes, the dramas continued.....
It took all day to find out for sure that it was definitely broken and then we were told the cost for him to have surgery and pins inserted into his leg. OMG!!!!
Finally my kind hearted BIL offered us the money. So Wednesday morning I happily trot off to the vet's to inform them that surgery can go ahead. Great they say but we need payment upfront. Problem! My BIL lives in Queensland so still waiting for money to clear our account. Surgery will probably be delayed until Thursday.
Now I have been crying all day for the last two days and I am done! You have to understand that Dexter is one of the kids. He has spent everyday either at our feet, on someone's lap or on their bed. He is miserable at the Vet's and in pain.
Finally surgery goes ahead late on Wednesday and we were able to bring him home last night. Now the FUN begins (not!)
He has to be contained for the next 2 weeks in a area about 1 metre square. No walking on his leg so he has to be carried outside for the toilet and from room to room where we are.
For 2 weeks after that it's small steps only on a lead and we are looking at a 8 week recovery period.

So here is a pic of my poor little mite.....

Well I only got to do 2 of the Cyber Crop challenges at Ready, Set, Scrap! I think that seems to be about average at the moment but you never know maybe next month I will get all of the completed (dreaming!).....LOL

The first was for Ann-Marie's America Challenge.

Ann-Marie has packed her bag and is off to... AMERICA
Here are the details of Ann-Marie's Challenge:

For my challenge I want to see some STARS and STRIPES!

Apart from the stars and stripes I have the following stipulations that I want to see ...

Your photo(or photos) must have some alterations
eg. cut-outs, rounded corners, selective colouring etc.

I want to see some layers!

I want to see some metal on your project
eg. pins, staples, brads, eyelets etc

I want to see some tearing and some distressing

and lastly, I want to see some paint, even if it's just a drop!

There was time over the weekend to squeeze in a creation for the DT Dare at Ready, Set, Scrap!
Every Cyber Crop, 3 members get to choose an element, theme and colour that the DT has to use to create a masterpiece.....LOL
The girls were very tricky this time. This was their challenge:

Purple and cream ONLY can have any shade of purple but no other colours allowed!

at least 3 handmade flowers.

theme: if i won lotto....I would

What a doozy!
But I had a go and this is what I came up with.
It's a card to me....LOL

Here is the layout I used for my Cyber Crop Challenge at Ready, Set, Scrap!
It is a Holiday themed Cyber Crop and I was given the destination England. So here is what my mind came up with:

Tracey has packed her bag and is off to...
England

Here are the details of Tracey's Challenge:

Ok when I thought of England I had to start singing!!!
God save our gracious Queen, long live our noble Queen.....

You must scrap something that makes you feel like a QUEEN!
It only has to be something simple, so long as it makes you feel good.

You must also include:
  • Something Gold
  • Some Bling (every Queen has some bling!)
  • The Colour Pink
  • Your Journaling Must Become Part Of Your Title
  • The Word Queen Must Appear Somewhere On Your Item
I used Sketch #32 at 52 Sketches....52 Weeks as my inspiration for the layout. Here it is:

Products Used: Webster's Pages PP : My Minds Eye PP : Prima - Camelot Rose : Prima - Cherry Blossom Branch : Tea-stained Paper : Thickers : Adorn-It Alpha Stickers : Gold Cord : Kaiser Paint : Versa Color Ink : Gold Journaling Pen : Gold Crown Charm

Pack your bags and get ready for a holiday!!!.....LOL

Ready, Set, Scrap! is having their Cyber Crop tonight and the theme is
"Holiday Escape"

Hope to see you there......

I love the work of Ingvild Bolme and am constantly inspired by her work so when I got this chocolate box, I knew immediately I wanted to re-create one of her projects. This months OTP challenge at Ready, Set, Scrap! was the perfect opportunity to finally have a play with it.
Here is a "before" pic of t
he box:

Here is the details of Janine's OTP Challenge for August:

For this month's OTP challenge Janine would like you to create an item in:
Shabby Chic Style
Janine would also like to see you :
Lace and at least 2 chipboard elements

So I cheated a little bit and replaced the lace with tulle instead...
Here is my take on the
challenge:

Inside Lid Of Box:

Now I got bored while I was waiting for glue to dry....LOL. So I grabbed a freebie magnet from our local MP (you know the ones th
at you get in your letter box all the time) and altered it to look a lot prettier.

This is me with my gorgeous Grandson Chay and the LO kind of conveys my frustration at living so far away from him!
